Breaking Reality

Posted on 9:43 AM by jimmy
It happened,
As it usually happens,
My words stumbled,
My eyes wandered,
Out of place. Out of purpose

She talked about life,
Sounded like empty lies.
A subconscious inhibition,
My hands no longer held hers,
As we sat beside one last time.

She talked to me,
She talked about us,
Her straight hair,
Her leaning shoulder,
No longer my missing puzzle.

I thought to myself,
That night our eyes met,
What attracted me to her?
It did not matter anymore,
I feel bitterly empty now.

This weakness of spirit,
Is for me to repent,
Letting go of reality,
In search of a dream,
That I may never wake up with.
