Ears To See

Posted on 10:13 PM by jimmy
There is nothing new that you will ever see, To which you are not open to see!

Darkness hides only your face,

Find something else to cover your mind.

Why say such or do I say too much,

Tell me , Tell me what you see ;

Tell me , Tell me what you hear ;

Tell me , Tell me what you seek ;

Tell me , Tell me what you feel.

When the wheel spins, When the head spins,

Jump on the wheel ,All is straight to see!

In its beauty lies its value, In it to decode deep within a mold!

Close your eyes, See with the lights shut ,

Close your mind, See with the soul shut

I always spoke, Few ever heard

My ways are strange, My face is strange

I speak with an accent

My name twists your tongue

I am foreign to your eyes

Just ask your heart and you will know

I am closer than you will ever know.

I smile at that smile !

Posted on 9:30 PM by jimmy
I take a road, Parallel to the one I need,

Wishing ahead lies a path that unite.

I Follow my shadows with a smile

I smile at that smile

Smiling at my smiling shadows

I am scared to journey back,

To start back on a new path.

I smile at my fear!

I smile at that smile!

I wish i knew what path that ought to be.

Failure and Success ineluctable

As do they come, so do they go.

Bequeathing sweet memories,

Strengths in our experiences

I search for a road less travelled.

My search to be unique.

Forgetting to see that whats already :

Special and beautiful in me.

I smile at my insanity!

I smile at my smile!

I smile at that smile!

My smile at insanity!

To Sing, To make happy my lady

Posted on 11:02 AM by jimmy
Tap my toes
Count till three
Making up this song
To Sing, To make happy my lady

One two three
Here I go
Whistiling loud a song
To Sing, To make happy my lady

Roses are red
Yes roses are aslo red, so what
I am still striking a chord
To Sing, To make happy my lady

Here here the cows dance
They stamp on my feet
Hee-Haw Hee-Haw, I rumble
To Sing, To make happy my lady

Them horses run and join
Piglets add the rhyme
Hee-Haw Hee-Haw, I sing
To Sing, To make happy my lady

I Shall Rise Again

Posted on 8:28 PM by jimmy
I Shall Rise Again

Sitting alone in the stadium

Under the moonlight

Flood lights savoring the greens

Basking in my failure

Wishing for someone else but my shadow

To tell me that I shall rise again !

Little rain drops, Little tear drops

Aching feat and wilting pride

I hold my head high

Looking at the long road ahead

Knowing noone else but my shadow

To tell me that I shall rise again !

Another Suicidal Romance

Posted on 1:40 AM by jimmy
Shot down !

She said , I dont stand a chance,

Took the ride ,

Another suicidal romance.

Precious!

You are the one!,I said.

I just get two words

To change my fate.

All right!

No, it's not lonely tonight

Anybody home? She asked,

I smiled, showed her home

Good-Bye!

I got my two words

Tucked in the passion

Between dusk to dawn

Princess!

You were the one, now you're not

Another suicidal romance

To change my fate

Morning Showers

Posted on 1:13 PM by jimmy
In the morning showers

Cloudy skies and bright smiles

Rain drops sparkling like diamonds

Running shoes kicking up puddles

Sprinting along side the parkway

Cold wind on my nose

Sweating in the rain

The heart beating faster

Running up the hill

Dry leaves in the mud

Scent of wet grass

Early birds singing their song

Those worms , somewhere hiding

Running shoes kicking up puddles

Morning showers

Sweating in the rain

People Say

Posted on 9:29 AM by jimmy
Some say, Its this pain that makes one love harder

Some say, Its this loneliness that makes love sharper

Some say, Love has turned hearts to stone.

Some say, Love has cut and bruised even the soul.

Love, some still say, is the most beautiful feeling.

Love, some still say, is not for the better amoung us.

Love, some still say, is not a feeling I had.

I say, Love never fails.

I say, Trust in yourself, Trust in love

I say, Love will love you forever with love.

I say, Hear about love from the one who hasnt loved!

You Too Will Pass

Posted on 8:48 PM by jimmy
More harder than no harder,

Missing you hour after hour.

Wishing out louder and louder,

Where are you, my lover?

This too will pass.

Sooner than later,

I will replace your face.

My heart will forever,

Erase you from its place.

You Too Will pass.

tears will flow.

tears that will dry.

tears that leave a mark,

on my face, on my faith.

Loving and Losing.

Living and Lieing.

Waching and Waiting.

Smiling and Laughing.

This too will pass.

You too will pass.

Misty Nights

Posted on 4:02 PM by jimmy
I take off my lenses

Sink in a few more shots

A chaser usually follows

The world is beautiful

It really works wonders

Every girl an angel

Every guy the devil

I charm to save

This kingdom of angels

My prize, that heavenly smile

And all that follows

I blame on the liquor

Happiness is mine

Posted on 11:27 PM by jimmy
Happiness is mine

In me and around me

I take the time to enjoy

Little things that life gifts.

Go chasing your own tails,

I will be right here

Enjoying the sunset

Sitting in my garden.

If I am travelling this trip

I choose the scenic road

I shall stop as I wish

I shall ride at my pace

My big future can wait

My future is nothing without me

I take the time to enjoy

Little things that life gifts.

My Hummingbird

Posted on 9:04 PM by jimmy
Sweet is that sound,
Fast are those wings.
Fly my birdie, fly away from me
My Hummingbird , fly away from me

No matter how far
Your little wings take you
Away from your lover
My Hummingbird, you will never be

The flowers that know your sound
Wait for you to flutter around
Your garden of love, frozen
My Hummingbird, till you return

Oh my sweet summer bird
My beautiful feathered friend
Fly away from me
My Hummingbird , fly away from me

All that matters is none

Posted on 5:11 PM by jimmy
I could just leave

Leave everything back

Turn off everything

Just stand up

Set down my guard

Remove all my masks

take one deep breath

swing my hands high

Walk into the clouds

Lighter than how i feel

Away from it all

All that matters is none

I just wanna leave

Really dont know where

The place I want to be go

Dont know if it exists

The person I want to be with

Dont know if she exists

No matter no more

Away from it all

All that matters is none

In that city that does not dream

Posted on 7:28 PM by jimmy
In that city that does not dream

Its sins ,its foundations, its lost souls

Its lies, its lights , its secrets

Its filth, its gardens, its bone graves

Darkness fills the skies

Winter all over again

Rains flood the night

Cries hount the air

Trees fallen by the side

Those ears that never heard a song

Those eyes that never saw colour

Those hands that never touched beauty

Those hearts that never felt loved

Its memories, Its death, Its dreams

Sleeping in the shadow of sorrow

In that city that does not dream

Think Wisely

Posted on 9:12 PM by jimmy
For every thought that reflects your mind,

There is a thought that reflects you.

Life is today, what it may not be tomorrow,

But what is tomorrow is upto you.

For every minute that reflects your day,

There is a minute that reflects you.

Your thoughts are today,

What your words are tomorrow.

Think wisely.

A Sunk Feeling

Posted on 6:47 PM by jimmy
The one thing less likely to make a right than two wrongs is one wrong mulishly pursued.

We pick an option , make a decision, chart a course. And then it turns out that we have picked, made or charted incorrectly.

If this is a decision in business, there always is the choice to go back, reevaluate and rechart the process and get out from the sunk costs. Investments of time and money than can be made up.

What should we do, if this is a decision in life?

Investments of time that we cant get back . A stake in the past should not affect the decisions about the future. Making a mistake and not admitting , it is just hurting yourself twice. Sticking it out, despite the wrong choice , it is just hurting yourself over and over.

A foolish consistency, An indecision. A sunk feeling

What will your verse be?

Posted on 3:21 PM by jimmy
Dead Poets Society

Peter Weir

Keating: We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless--of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse." That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

Keating: Now I'd like you to step forward over here. They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? --- Carpe --- hear it? --- Carpe, Carpe Diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.

Keating: O Captain, my Captain. Who knows where that comes from? Anybody? Not a clue? It's from a poem by Walt Whitman about Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Now in this class you can either call me Mr. Keating, or if you're slightly more daring, O Captain my Captain.

Keating: No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.

Neil: I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life ... to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Hopkins: The cat sat on the mat.

Keating: Congratulations, Mr. Hopkins, yours is the first poem to have a negative score on the Pritchard scale. We're not laughing at you. We're laughing near you. I don't mind that your poem had a simple theme. Sometimes the most beautiful poetry can be about simple things, like a cat or a flower or rain. Poetry can come from anything with the stuff of revelation in it. Just don't let your poems be ordinary.

Keating: A man is not "very tired". He is exhausted. Don't use "very sad." Use, come on Mr. Overstreet, you twerp.

Knox: Morose?

Keating: Exactly. "Morose." Language was developed for one endeavor, and that is, Mr. Anderson. Come on, are you a man or an amoeba? Mr. Perry.

Neil: Uh, to communicate?

Keating: Nooo!! To woo women!

Todd: Truth is like a blanket that always leaves your feet cold. You push it, stretch it, it'll never be enough. Kick at it, beat it, it'll never cover any of us. From the moment we enter crying, to the moment we leave dying, it'll just cover your face as you wail and cry and scream.

Keating: Now we all have a great need for acceptance, but you must trust that your beliefs are unique, your own, even though others may think them odd or unpopular. Even though the heard may go " That's bad." Robert Frost said, " Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I, I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference." I want you to find your own walk right now, your own way of striding, pacing: any direction, anything you want. Whether it's proud or silly. Anything. Gentlemen, the courtyard is yours. You don't have to perform. Just make it for yourself.

The natural state of mankind

John Quincy Adams (Anthony Hopkins): The natural state of mankind is instead -- and I know this is a controversial idea -- is freedom... is freedom. And the proof is the length to which a man, woman or child will go to regain it once taken. He will break loose his chains. He will decimate his enemies. He will try and try and try, against all odds, against all prejudices, to get home.

Around the corner, I have a friend .

Posted on 7:40 PM by jimmy
Around the corner, I have a friend .

In this World, With no end.

The days go by and weeks rush off,

Before I know , years run by.

I never see her face, or hear her voice

Life is swift , its insane race,

She knows I like her just as well,

In those days when I rang her bell.

And we rode around in my car,

We were younger then,

All busy and fancy now

Rushing and Pushing our separate ways

Tired of playing a foolish game,

Tired of trying to make a name.

"Tomorrow" I say "I will call on her"

" Just to show that I'm thinking of her."

Tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,

Distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, lives my friend,

In a corner far far away.

Around the corner , many miles away.

Along the ways , I remember her.

I know she does the same.

Around the corner, a vanished friend.

In my dreams, In my prayers.

Around the corner, I have a friend .

In this World, With new beginings

My Meetings.

Posted on 7:24 PM by jimmy
My Meetings.

People meet and depart

By taking or breaking heart

leaves behind the memory of past

Which forever long last.

The unexpected meeting

changed the world around me

Which was so beautiful as it could never be

Everyday was an excitement which now i can't find

The days are gone leaving me behind.

Now, the sweet memory becomes a mere dream

Whenever thought comes; the eyes gleam.

A weak expectation remains together

The hopeful eyes searching rather.

The fabled days had been swept away

With the time and disappeared in the haze

But the memory altogether remains

The heart wanting the time to repeat again.

TRUTH IN PERFECT

Posted on 8:33 PM by jimmy
TRUTH IN PERFECT

She took the long floor to the open window.

It was all empty and a lot scary.

Her eyes strayed and rested on a bird.

In close a strange flying man.

He took her by the arm, and flew,

Up into the emptiness with speed.

In search of good and evil,

And the truth that rested within.

She held on tight, right and left.

Lest her words may fail and fall.

She smiled and let it say all.

And together they watched all flow.

In leaps and dodges they wandered,

Into the depths of the flow,

In search of good and evil,

And the truth that rested within.

The truth needs no explanation,

Only perfection and re-perfection.

The quest of which left many astray,

Perfection will never be a must,

And neither will the entire truth.

The affairs of truth are such,

That the one we hold so near,

Are left to tears with fear,

Still truth holds no peer.

So much to see and know

With time, as the spirit degrades,

We'll step aside and move,

On the path known to many, with

The riddles of love all empty.

quotes from : Scent of A Woman

Posted on 10:37 AM by jimmy
Lt. Col. Frank Slade: You are in no position to disagree. I've got a loaded .45; you got pimples.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Ooh but I still smell her. Women. What could you say? Who made 'em? God must've been a fucking genius. Hair. They that hair's everything you know. Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls and just wanted to go to sleep forever? Or lips. And when they touched yours were like that first swallow of wine after you just crossed the desert. Tits. Hoo-hah! Big ones, little ones. Nipples staring right out at ya, like secret searchlights. Mmm Legs. I don't care if they're Greek columns, or second-hand Steinways, but what's between them... passport to heaven. I need a drink. Yes, Mr Sims, there's only two syllables in this whole wide world worth hearing. Pussy. Hah! Are you listenin' to me son? I'm givin' ya pearls here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: HOO-HAH!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Well, gentlemen, when the shit hits the fan, some guys run and some guys stay.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Oh, uh, Charlie - about your little problem - there are two kinds of people in this world: those who stand up and face the music, and those who run for cover. Cover is better.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donna: That's amazing!

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Well, I'm in the amazing business...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: It's a great day for singing a song / It's a great day for moving along / It's a great day for morning to night / It's a great day for everybody's plight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Tits. Hoo-hah! Big ones, little ones. Nipples staring right out at ya, like secret searchlights.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Legs. I don't care if they're Greek columns, or second-hand Steinways, but what's between them... passport to heaven.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Women. What could you say? Who made 'em? God must've been a fucking genius.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: When in doubt, fuck.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: The day we stop looking, Charlie, is the day we die.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: If I were the man I was five years ago I'd take a flame thrower to this place.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: There is nothing like the sight of an amputated spirit. There is no prosthesis for that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Don't shrug you imbecile, I'm blind! Save the body language for the bimbae.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is Mr. Trask! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too fuckin' blind. If I were the man I was five years ago I'd take a flame-thrower to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to? I've been around you know? There was a time I could see. And I have seen, boys like these, younger than these, their arms torn out, their legs ripped off. But there isn't nothin' like the sight of an amputated spirit, there is no prosthetic for that. You think you're merely sending this splendid foot-soldier back home to Oregon with his tail between his legs but I say that you are executing his soul. And why? Because he's not a Baird man. Baird men, you hurt this boy, you're going to be Baird Bums, the lot of ya. And Harry, Jimmy, Trent, wherever you are out there, fuck you too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Randy: You want to know the truth? The truth is, he was an asshole before. Now he's just a blind asshole. I guess God doesn't think that some people deserve to see.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Tickets. Money. Speech. An old joke from my days with Lyndon Johnson.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Just call me Frank. Call me Mr. Slade. Call me... Colonel, if you must, just don't call me 'Sir'.

Charlie Simms: All right. Colonel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: You sharp-shooting me, punk? Is that what you're doing? Don't sharp-shoot me. You'll give me forty, then you're gonna give me forty more. Then you're gonna pull KP. The grease pit! I'll rub your nose in enlisted men's CRUD 'till you don't know which end is up! You understand?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Your father pedals car telephones at a 300 percent markup. Your mother works on heavy commission at a camera store. Graduated to it from espresso machines. Hah!

[pause]

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: What are you, dying of some wasting disease?

Charlie Simms: No, I'm right - I'm right here.

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: I know exactly where your body is. What I'm looking for is some indication of a brain. Too much football without a helmet? Hah! Lyndon's line on Gerry Ford. Deputy debriefer, Paris, peace talks, '68. Snagged a silver star and a silver bar. Threw me into G-2.

Charlie Simms: G-2?

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Intelligence. Of which you have none.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Can't believe they're my blood. I.Q. of sloths and the manners of banshees. He's a mechanic, she's a homemaker. He knows as much about cars as a beauty queen, and she bakes cookies that taste like wing nuts. As for the tots, they're twits.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: I don't know if Charlie's silence today is right or wrong; I'm not a judge or jury. But I do know this, he won't sell anybody out to buy his future!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Haven't you heard? Conscience is dead.

Charlie Simms: No sir, I haven't.

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Well then take the fuckin' WAX out of your ears! Grow up! It's fuck your buddy, cheat on your wife, call your mother on Mother's Day... Charlie, it's all shit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Uh-oh, we got a moron here.

Tony Montana: You wanna fuck with me? Okay. You wanna play rough? Okay. Say hello to my little friend.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tony Montana: I never fucked anyone over in my life who didn't have it coming to 'em.

Tony Montana: In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers, and say "that's the bad guy." So, what'll that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth... even when I lie. So say goodnight to the bad guy. Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tony Montana: All I have in this world is balls and my word and I don't break 'em for no one. You understand?

Comfortably Uncomfortable

Posted on 8:28 AM by jimmy
Large room and windows with fancy art,

A view what was once beautiful.

Now the sounds of construction,

Fill what was once the flowing river.

In search of comfort and style,

Pay myself away from nature.

Its beauty and its glory,

My eyes blind to the green,

Dimming like an oil lamp.

I shut my thoughts.

Work my days in zest.

Rest my nights in dreams.

Comfortably uncomfortable.

Big buildings and printed paper,

Fill my visions for tomorrow.

In it I dream of a river ,

A forest with its wilderness,

Everything a button click away.

I dream of a second nature,

To create and preserve.

All when I fail to understand,

To preserve and to protect,

The one right under my feet.

I shut my thoughts.

Work my days in zest.

Rest my nights in dreams.

Comfortably uncomfortable.

Three Sunsets On A Dusty Highway

Posted on 10:06 PM by jimmy
Oh! I believe the sun sets,

To add beauty to our lives.

Eye witness to the orange sky

Rode miles facing the ball

I gazed as I drove,

Sped staright into a bliss.

Off roading and bumping, hoping ,

To catch it before it sank again.

Added dust to a dusty dusk.

Slowly slowed till I stopped.

Stood watching beauty bid

Goodnight to the dusty highway

Whats more beautiful than this sunset?

Walked back and sat, facing mirrors

Tilting for the three sunsets

Slipping slowly into the horizon.

Three sunsets on a dusty highway

Clouds close in to be a part

Of this picture perfect sight

I a part of this natures light

Speeding out of the dirt

Clouding my three sunsets

Gripping reality and burning rubber

I drive back onto my road

No Longer

Posted on 7:12 PM by jimmy
I went far and far till ,

It was no longer far.

In search of it all.

It was no longer far.

Now so very close that I ,

Could not see, see it any longer.

I went back a little , searching

It was no longer far.

In search of it all.

But it was no longer there.

I went far and far till,

No longer I know,

Was it ever there?

World As Never Was

Posted on 1:17 PM by jimmy
Sunny Nights and Starry Days

Cloudy summers and shining monsoons

Sun rises from the west and sets inbetween

Rivers flow upstream

Stinking Flowers under the soil

Random roots on my yard

Talking chicken and bloody vegetables

Flying men and walking birds

You break and then you fall

I wake up again like everyday

The world is as was yesterday.

Whispers In The Air

Posted on 7:24 AM by jimmy
Laying next to me in grace,

The beautiful girl sleeping.

The sounds of the wind blowing,

And the clutter of the leaves.

I stretched out to bring her closer,

To watch her shine under the moon.

Sweet as summer her sleeping smile.

Radiant yet shy!

A shiver down her bare skin,

Reached out and kissed me light.

Go to sleep my love, she whispered.

In love, made her beautiful than ever!

O my sweet summer love.

Hold me tight a little longer

Under the blanket of the sky

For tonight your love in your arms

On a summner night, sky so dry,

Romance and Passion under the stars.

Affairs of the heart are made,

With whispers in the air!

Slowly in her warmth

I shut my eyes, she on my mind

Dreaming for days of peace

Praying to wake up with her in my arms.

For Tomorrow And Beyond

Posted on 6:53 AM by jimmy
Within the madness of the days

Something to look forward to

Even if its just a tender hope

I can hear it in a sweet voice

For what may be

The troubles of yesterday defines

The person moulded for tomorrow

Corrupted yet polished

For tomorrow and beyond

Prayers Silent and Loud

Have been told often ,not to

Let be taken for a ride

Yet kindess wishes to see

Only the good in others

Fire will burn and leave a scar

Love will end and leave memories

Fear will seize and leave stories

Honour will rise and never fall

For tomorrow and beyond

Prayers Silent and Loud

In my path to truth

Honour will value the most

No gold, diamonds nor precious stones

Compare to the beauty and flair of honour

As memories fade and faces around change

To know how you will remember

know that you will be remembered

Even if its in a little silent prayer

For tomorrow and beyond

Prayers Silent and Loud

A day to smile

A day to remember,

A day when friends turned foes

A day went darkness seemed the brightest

A day to smile upon

A day to forget

A day when roads seemed narrow

A day when everything came loose

A day to smile upon

A day to understand

A day when hope was stretched

A day when grip was lost

A day to smile upon

A day to support

A day when loneliness blankets

A day when reason cries

A day to smile upon

Today to another

A day when laughter sounds

A day when passion fills

Another day smiled upon

Not another moment I would wait

To see the person I read everynight.

A wonderful delight, Meeting her

Forgetting the world around me

Your Arms In Mine

Posted on 8:51 PM by jimmy
Held her tight on the couch,

Took a long look into her eyes.

A smile running up her lips,

How much she wanted to cuddle.

The thoughts in her head,

All empty and a lot scary.

Her eyes strayed and rested on mine,

Never felt closer to a man.

I took her arm in mine,

Held her closer sending down a shiver.

Her eyes rolled back and then shut

Her lips inching closer to mine

She held on tight, with all her might.

Lest her grip may fail.

She smiled and let it say all.

Together we held love within.

What is love?

Posted on 5:39 AM by jimmy
What is love?

Tell me baby now!

When you claim it's love

That you have for me!

Your palms sweat, your heart racing,

It isn't love, its affection.

You can't keep your eyes or hands off of me,

It isn't love, its lust.

You want me because you know I'll be there,

It isn't love, its loneliness.

You tell me every day they I am the only one,

It isn't love, its a lie.

You say you will give up everything for me,

It isn't love, its charity.

Love quotes it all

Learnt from love

For have loved and lost

But kept love intact

What is love?

You know now!

When you claim that its love

Look to the ones who have loved

A Surprise Meeting

Posted on 8:35 PM by jimmy
This is a strange feeling .

Do you feel this way too?

We find ourselves telling each other,

The deepest details of our lives.

Things we don't even share with our friends.

So who are you? and who am I?

A confidant? A lover? A shoulder to cry on?

A ear to listen? A heart to feel?

I can be all of these and even more.

No matter where we met, no matter how long ,

You have become a part of my life .

You have walked a while with me.

You have talked your heart out to me.

Did you wish to hold on to me?

I'm happy with how its turned out so far.

I am scared to take it any far,

Are you scared as I am?

Death Stalks Poets ?

Posted on 3:19 PM by jimmy
Verse Writers Die Younger Than Other Writers

By Daniel DeNoon

WebMD Medical News Reviewed By Charlotte Grayson, MD

on Thursday, December 11, 2003

All eager-lipped I kissed the mouth of Death.

-- U.S. poet Gwendolyn B. Bennett

Dec. 11, 2003 -- Death is drawn more to poetry than to other forms of writing, an intriguing study finds.

Poets die sooner than playwrights. Playwrights die sooner than novelists. And novelists die sooner than nonfiction writers, according to a study by James C. Kaufman, PhD, of California State University. The study appears in the November issue of Death Studies.

Kaufman combed through biographical references to come up with birth and death dates for writers in four different cultures: North America, China, Turkey, and Eastern Europe. The data spans millennia -- one Turkish writer was born in the year 390. Kaufman made an effort to control for the fact that life spans have increased over time and across cultures.

"Both male and female poets had the shortest life spans of all four types of writers, and poets had the shortest life spans in three of the four cultures," Kaufman says in a news release. "Only in Eastern Europe did poets squeak past playwrights by a few months, and that difference was not statistically significant."

Why might poets die sooner?

"Some of the reasons why poets have [been] found to be more likely to suffer from mental illness ... may also be applicable to why poets are more likely to die young," Kaufman writes. "Poetry may appeal to people who are more likely to be self-destructive."

But there's also a more prosaic explanation, Kaufman acknowledges. Poets tend to achieve fame earlier than other kinds of writers. That puts them in the history books at a younger age -- and gives them a better chance of being young when they die.

Kaufman, however, prefers the explanation that fiction writers die younger because fiction is lonely work. Playwrights interact with directors and actors; journalists must interview and interact with newsmakers. Fiction writers have only the blank page.

"This study may reinforce the idea of poets being surrounded by an aura of doom, even compared with others who may pick up a pen and paper for other purposes," Kaufman concluded. "It is hoped that the data presented here will help poets and mental health professionals find ways to lessen what appears to be a negative impact of writing poetry on mortality and health."

In Memory Of Love

Posted on 7:13 AM by jimmy
Remember the time

When we departed,

The days were so long;

Silent night all along

Lonliness and love songs;

You know with whom it belong?

Remember the days

When I loved you

The first time I fell in love;

My heart had a reason to follow

Swearing heaven up above

That this heart beat is yours from now.

Remember the days

When we were together

I realised its your flair;

For making me aware

That how much you care

For me and the thoughts we share.

Remember the days

When I missed you

The meaning of love I could learn

When you'r absence made me concerned

And I was waiting for you to return

As I started loving you more than anyone.

Have you ever been this way?

Knowing right from wrong,

yet choosing wrong.

Have you ever been this way?

Being in full control,

Not knowing what you are doing.

Have you ever been this way?

Listening and watching,

Letting nothing go to your head.

Have you ever been this way?

Creative and artistic,

An empty canvas, waiting for you to paint.

Albert Einstein -The poet

Posted on 12:47 PM by jimmy
To My Dear Fellow Men

-Albert Einstein,1953

Manuscripts of endless weight

Some quite good, some second rate

The Mail does bring me every day

Without a rest or long delay.

I am not a wicked man

And want to help all I can

Everyone whom cruel fate

Has selected to create.

Science and Philosophy

And riddles of Psychology;

Cure-alls for humanity

And, of course, much poetry.

Each one thinks that only he

Had his parcel sent to me

And his rage turns to a tirade

If my answer is delayed.

O, my dear man, do admit

That here is a close limit

To the bit of intellect

Which is up there in the head.

To those who choose to preserve

Let me whisper in their ear:

Oh Holy Florian, great saint!

Please spare my house, let others faint!

This little prayer I recite

With deep devotion every night

Japanese Poetry

Posted on 7:51 AM by jimmy
Japanese poetry had its early beginnings in the style known as tanka, or "short form". This poetry (31 syllables, arranged 5-7-5-7-7) was an early form native to Japan. Up until the 16th century, nearly all poetry was composed in this form. The development from tanka to haiku, or "opening phrase", is bridged by another style, the renga, or "linked poem" (31 syllables, 5-7-5 three lines, 7-7 two lines). Two or more poets usually composed the renga. First a poet would compose the opening, followed by a second poet who would close the poem. Over time it became popular for poets to write only the first part. This eventually developed into haiku. Haiku poetry depicts a single image, is almost always naturous in theme, and usually contains 17 syllables (5-7-5).The only formal rule is the fixed number of syllables, and even this is sometimes violated.

Poetry Styles

Tanka a form of poetry also known as short form. One verse of 31 syllables in 5 lines arranged 5-7-5-7-7. This is a style uniquely Japanese and was to remain the most popular until the 16th century.

Choka a form of poetry related to the tanka, otherwise known as long form. It also has 5-7 lines but is indefinate in length. It was usually reserved for elegies.

Renga also called the linked poem. Toward the end of the end of the Heian period (794-1185) it was becoming increasing popular for poets to divide a single tanka poem into two parts. Both parts related to a single image or theme. When two poets composed a single tanka this became known as the renga.

Kanshi a classical chinese poem that never really took off in japan but was present.

Haiku a style of poetry made famous by Basho. It is basically the second half of a renga.

"I am as I am and so will I be"

Posted on 9:23 PM by jimmy
"I am as I am and so will I be"

by Sir Thomas Wyatt (Attributed)

I am as I am and so will I be

But how that I am none knoweth truly.

Be it evil, be it well, be I bound, be I free,

I am as I am and so will I be.

I lead my life indifferently,

I mean no thing but honestly.

And though folks judge full diversely

I am as I am and so will I die.

I do not rejoice or yet complain.

Both mirth and sadness I do refrain

And use the mean since folks will feign.

Yet I am as I am, be it pleasure or pain.

Diverse do judge as they do trow,

Some of pleasure and some of woe.

Yet for all that nothing they know.

But I am as I am wheresoever I go.

But since that judgers do thus decay

Let every man his judgement say.

I will take it in sport and play

For I am as I am whosoever say nay.

Who judgeth well, well God him send.

Who judgeth evil, God him amend.

To judge the best therefore intend

For I am as I am and so will I end.

Yet some there be that take delight

To judge folks' thought for envy and spite

But whether they judge me wrong or right

I am as I am and so do I write.

Praying you all that this do read

To trust it as you do your creed

And not to think I change my weed

For I am as I am however I speed.

But how that is I leave to you.

Judge as ye list, false or true.

Ye no more know than afore ye knew

Yet I am as I am whatever ensue.

And from this mind I will not flee,

But to you all that misjudge me

I do protest, as ye may see

I am as I am and so will I be.

I can think of nothing

That I could more wisely do,

Than to be a friend,

And love a friend

WHERE IS IT ....?

Posted on 12:01 AM by jimmy
THERE ARE PEOPLE ALL AROUND ME

YET I'M ALL ALONE. A SEA OF FACES,

SOME FAMILIAR,SOME STRANGE,

SOME FRIENDS, SOME FOES,

SOME FOES BECOMING FRIENDS

SOME FRIENDS BECOMING FOES.

HERE I AM SEARCHING FOR A PURPOSE

SEARCHING FOR A THREAD OF HOPE

TO CATCH ON TO AND CLIMB.

I WAS A DREAMER ALL MY SHORT LIFE.

ITS HERE I REALISED

ITS HERE...THE REAL WORLD!

A SHARK AT EVERY CORNER

A DOVE AT THE NEXT

A DOVE WHICH TURNS INTO A SHARK AT THE VERY NEXT.

LIFE'S GIVING ME ALL

ITS TURNS AND TWISTS AND CURVES

I RISE ALONE

STANDING ON THE TOP

THE WIND ON MY FACE

MY EYES WIDE OPEN.

SOMEWHERE THERE LIES MY DREAM

SOMETHING I'D LEAVE THE WORLD FOR

SOMETHING I'D IGNORE MY LOVE FOR

SOMETHING I'D EMBRACE MY FOE FOR

WHERE IS IT ....?

The Woman In My Car

Posted on 8:25 PM by jimmy
The Woman In My Car

I took a woman in my car.

She had beautiful black hair,

Her lips, the color of red aurora in the night sky

I sat beside Her.

Listened and stole glances

like an Arabian thief in the dark.

And She noticed my fascination.

With an arctic-melting smile, She leaned over

Whispered into my ears -- "I love you."

And we sat listening to the silence

Roughness of the road

Speeding across the open

Hip hop on my lips

Shivers down my spine

She was perfect.

The Kohinoor diamond.

A Masterpiece.

My Mona lisa, My dream.

I Feel I Am

Posted on 7:32 AM by jimmy
There are so many feelings

That I have never known

Now when I am starting to learn

I feel I am growing old.

There are so many feelings

That I have never shown

Now when I am starting to show

I feel I am all alone.

There are so many feelings

That I have never shared

Now when I am starting to share

I feel I am soundless.

There are so many feelings

That I have never liked

Now when I am starting to change

I feel I am someone else.

In Search Of Our Leader

Posted on 7:06 PM by jimmy
I was asked about myself

About myself as a leader

I was asked about my ability

My ability as a leader

I was asked about my skills

My skill as a leader

I was asked about my power

My power as a leader

I was asked about my respectibility

My respectibility as a leader

I was asked do I command

Command the respect of leaders

I said, I am such a leader

A leader whose command leaders respect

I was asked about my choice

My choice as my leader.

On The Wings of My Dreams

Posted on 5:19 PM by jimmy
Sometimes the world looks perfect,

Nothing to rearrange.

Sometimes you get a feeling

Like you need some kind of change.

No matter what the odds are this time,

Nothing's going to stand in my way.

This flame in my heart, And a long lost dream

Gives every dark street a light at the end.

Standing tall, on the wings of my dream.

Rise and fall, on the wings of my dream.

The rain and thunder,

The wind and haze I'm bound for better days.

It's my life and my dream, Nothing's going to stop me now.

we may have our disappointments.

we may argue.

we may concern one another.

IT knows the deepest details of our lives.

waiting to be found and respected.

we may have our suprises.

we may have our reflections.

we may laugh.

we may corner one another.

IT is none else but yourself.

waiting to add new memories.

Voting Dissection

Posted on 10:56 PM by jimmy
The different polls for different goals. What Method would be best suited (by you)if you were ever running for an office of power?

1. Condorcet's Method: In this system, each candidate is coupled with all others on a one-to-one or paired match-up. The ballot necessary to list all pairings would be absurdly cumbersome and confusing (and laborious for voters). Results can be paradoxical.

2. Borda Count: Voters rank all candidates from first place to last. A voter's first choice is awarded a number of points usually equal, but often less than, the number of candidates. The second place receives one less point than the first, and so on. Points are totaled and the highest number wins.

3. Plurality Voting: Each voter chooses one candidate, and the candidate with the most votes win(regardless of whether the winner commands a majority).

4. Approval Voting: Voters give a single point to as many candidate as they consider acceptable, and the candidate with the most point wins. This process often leads to electing the least objectionable leader.

5. Cumulative Voting: This system allots every voter as many votes as there are candidates.A voter can distribute these votes among several candidates or cast all of them for a single candidate.

6. Instant Run-Off Voting: Voters rank candidates and whoever gets the fewest first-place votes is automatically eliminated. The first-place vote of anyone who voted for the losing candidate is awarded for the voters second choice. The process continues until one candidate gains majority.

Waiting to Choose

Posted on 9:43 PM by jimmy
Time is a dealer in the game of Life. People think that it is a wise choice to wait for another card before making any final decisions. But where and when will this waiting game end? Will it go on till all decisions are dictated by resources at hand and not by

the dreams near to your heart? Will the fact of having more options and less acoompishments bring any more joy? OR ,Is it really wiser to wait to know all choices before making your decison?

The sense of judgement. The knowledge of knowing. The art of skill. The logic of reasoning.

What should we be doing to find a balance between waiting and choosing?

The Cheerful Caller

Posted on 9:21 AM by jimmy
The Cheerful Caller

He dropped into my office with a grin upon his face,

He talked about the weather and the race.

He asked about the family, and told the latest joke.

But he never mentioned anyone who'd suddenly gone broke.

He talked of books and pictures, and the play he'd been to see.

A clever quip his friend had made he passed along to me.

He praised the suit of clothes I wore; he asked me what it cost.

But he never said a word about the money he had lost.

He was with me twenty minutes, smiling heavily, while he stayed,

O'er the memory of some silly blunder he had made.

Calamity and tragedy he mentioned not at all.

I thought it rather curious, when he had come and gone;

He must have had some tale of woe--but didn't pass it on.

For nowadays, it seems to me that every person I meet

Has something new in misery and moaning to repeat.

So I write these lines to him who had his share of woe,

But still could talk of other things, and let his troubles go.

I was happier with his visit. In a world that's sick with doubt,

'It was good to meet a man who wasn't spreading gloom about.

'Better still, be a man who wasn't spreading gloom about.

PAIN

Posted on 7:35 AM by jimmy
PAIN

Pain stayed so long I said to her today

'I will not have you with me anymore,'

I stamped my foot and said, 'Be Gone !,'

And paused there, startled at the look she wore,

'I who have been your teacher--all you know

Of understanding, love and sympathy, and patience, I have taught you, shall I

go?'

She spoke the turth, this strange unwelcome guest;

I watched her leave, and knew that she was wise.

She left a heart grown tender in my cheast.

She left a far clear vision in my eyes,

She left a heart wanting in love.

I dried my tears, and lifted up a song,

Even for one who'd tortured me so long.

The Mountain Cry

Posted on 7:33 AM by jimmy
The Mountain Cry

I hear you by the mountain,

A distant cry,

No louder than thunder.

Your heart pounding

Yet a smile on your face.

So hard for many to face

The wind blowing with all might

You pretend to life

You lie none but to your self.

Long gone the days

Long gone are those dreams

For the world is at peace

For you to take your place.

A Fruity Mystery

Posted on 8:21 PM by jimmy
I see this tree,

With its fruits hanging down.

I begin to wonder ..

why does the fruit see

The world upside down?

The fruits way ,

Is it the right way?

Or is it my way !

Always looking upto the world.

I pretend to be the fruit.

I Stand on my head.

Much to the amusement of others

In the park, watching me.

Just then it struck me

I am being noticed by many.

It just took me to be upside down

To be so noticed by all.

Is that why the fruit hangs?

Is that why I try so hard to reach it?

Is that why I admire its beauty?

Is that why I shall always be me?
